If you haven't been to the ONS web site lately you may be surprised. They really have made the site more easily accessible. You can go straight from the home page to UK at a glance or to £economic. Both areas give you easy access to excellent data series. Or try going to 'Neighbourhood' for some local data. Do some comparisons with other areas. You can find all sorts of stuff. Go to 'Browse by theme' and select 'Social and Welfare'. Look for Social Trends in pdf format.
The increased scope for classroom use is dramatic.
