GCSE Business Studies and Economics News Sept 06
You may have noticed that there are new activities for Unit 1 in the Resources section of the web site. There are more of them in the pipeline too, for the rest of the units. These will appear during the course of the year. Go to Unit 1 to see five new items, Unit 1: Make or Break?
Another two are already on-line for Unit 2.
Some 200 schools are starting work on the Edexcel pilot GCSE Business right now, among them a number of Nuffield enthusiasts. Most of the latter have indicated that they will choose the Economics option in Yeat 11. The two courses will together provide a GCSE in Business Studies and Economics. Teachers will find a number of familiar features in the courses, particularly in Year 11.
A special message to those teaching the pilot course now
In case you have not already spotted it, when you go to the GCSE home page of the web site, you will see a direct link on the front page, in the colum under the Welcome picture of the girl at work, to the new resources that are relevant to the pilot course. These are annotated to fit the Edexcel Scheme of Work that you will all have been sent. They are intended to supplement the resources that have been suggested by Edexcel and to help you to provide a variety of approaches to the course content. GCSE pilot
