The case studies are being replaced during 2008.
They are Word files so they can be adapted to suit your students.

Unit 2 Enquiry 3 'What can machines do?': the file provides data on productivity changes and on employment and output in the car industry.

Unit 3 Enquiry 4 'How can the odds be shortened?'case study: Eurotunnel's cash flow has become less of a problem in the past two years. This is a chance to see how a company with very big debts can survive.

Unit 3 Enquiry 5 'What to do?': the 'Roller coaster ride' case study provides some 2007 data and draws attention to the gloomy headlines in the news. It encourages students to watch the news and the papers for a little while. The outcome should be a more balanced perspective than the headlines suggest.

Big or small?
Unit 4 Enquiry 3 'Wensleydale Creamery' case study: Wensleydale Creamery has an extensive website which could stimulate quality revision, as well as bringing the story up to date.

Unit 4 Enquiry 4 'Tolanaro' now has additional information which may be helpful in discussing the questions raised by this case.

Create or destroy?
Unit 5 Enquiry 3 'Evidence, energy and people': the 'Sustainability' case study provides more recent data on incomes and energy use in developing and developed countries, together with questions for discussion.

Unit 6 Enquiry 3 'Fair trade': A case study on the Fair Trade Foundation with information about the growth of fair trade and how to find out more about the growers
